Presenting VISCA DSS to Vineyard Growers

On November 12th 2019, our partners made a presentation about VISCA DSS where practical information from the project was shared with vineyards growers of Raimat and Agropixel. Interesting exchanges were made with the participants and the feedback was gathered as inputs for exploitation activities.

The aim of VISCA DSS is to integrate climate and agricultural models with farmers’ management specifications in order to design short practices, medium- and long-term adaptation strategies to climate change.

VISCA at XI International Workshop on Sap Flow

The XI International Workshop on Sap Flow took place in Hyytiälä, Finland from 8th - 11th October 2019.The workshop addressed topics concerning plant - water relations and their measurement and was centred on plant water transport. VISCA project was presented in the workshop, precisely, on the topic of 'Estimating transpiration coefficients of grapevines (Vitis vinifera L.) "Tempranillo" subjected to delayed pruning' by IRTA. VISCA at the 21st GiESCO International Meeting

The 21st GiESCO International Meeting took place on 23-28 June 2019 in Thessaloniki, Greece which covered the main fields in viticultural research and innovation focusing on vine ecophysiology, vineyard management, grape and wine quality, and sustainable production. A professional day was also included, with the aim to summon attendees from the private sector and strengthen the exchange of knowledge and information between researchers and end-users. VISCA project was presented by the University of Porto & SYMINGTON during this event where they presented preliminary results of the crop forcing technique which they're applying in a demonstration site in Doruo region. VISCA at the 11th Alentejo Vine and Wine Symposium

The future and sustainability of the wine sector in economic, social and environmental terms were the focus themes of the 11th Alentejo Vine and Wine Symposium which took place on 15, 16 and 17 May in Évora, at the Auditory of the Alentejo Regional Coordination and Development Commission with the participation of 200 representatives of researchers, experts and end-users in viticulture and oenology fields. VISCA project was presented by the University of Porto & SYMINGTON at 11th Alentejo Viticulture Symposium.

VISCA at the 4th European Climate Change Adaptation conference

The European Climate Change Adaptation (ECCA)’s primary objective is to bring leading academics and practitioners together to identify and disseminate adaptation solutions, and explore methods to reduce the risks and impacts of disasters caused by extreme weather events.

On 28-31 May 2019, the 4th ECCA conference took place in Lisbon, Portugal which had a particular attention on identifying the ways that the climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction communities can learn from each other, and find ways to support the most vulnerable groups and environments in danger from climate change impacts.

 VISCA project was presented by METEOSIM and IRTA during the event!
